The last book or novel that I have read was the Lord of the Rings, Return of the King. Since I had watched the movie before I read this book, I had a general idea of what to expect. Yet, I can safely say that reading the book felt like a new experience because the book went into the feelings and thoughts of the characters which the movie does not cover. The book did not do a great job of painting the battle scenes but it developed the characters and story quit well. I enjoyed reading the book but all in all I think I prefer the movie version of Return of the King more.
